Characters: William Beaumont, Alexis St. Martin
Historical RPF about an American doctor and his patient in the early 1800s. In 1822, 20-year-old French-Canadian fur trapper Alexis St. Martin was shot at close range with a shotgun on Mackinac Island, ripping up his torso and blasting a hole in his stomach. Everyone thought him likely to die and didn't want to waste time/resources on a poor illiterate indentured worker, but 36-year-old American army doctor Dr. William Beaumont took him into his care and (partially on his own dime) slowly nursed Alexis back to health. But Alexis's gut wound healed into a fistula, leaving a permanent hole open to his stomach. Beaumont became fixated on the opportunities this provided for medical research into digestion (and his own advancement in medical society) and thus engaged in a decade-plus-long fraught and codependent relationship with St. Martin while experimenting on him. These experiments ultimately yielded important research into human digestion, despite the ethical issues.
You can find basic info on these two on their Wikipedia pages or in this podcast episode. If you want extra info there are a lot of free books & historical documents about Beaumont on google books. Here is a great (real) letter from Beaumont to St. Martin. I also really enjoyed the historical fiction novel Open Wound: The Tragic Obsession of Dr. William Beaumont which features an excellent wound-fingering scene. Note that a lot of these resources, especially the historical books/documents, contain period-typical racism.
I'm really interested in the basic building blocks comprising these two historical figures and their relationship, and you could build all sorts of different fiction on top of that. A lot of the keyword ideas I came up with are on the darker side but rest assured I would also love fluff. I'm just really into the idea of "doctor puts in considerable special effort to save patient, patient heals in weird fashion ripe for medical experimentation, they fall into a long complicated entanglement with various power imbalance issues." They were both married irl but I don't care whether you keep that in a fic or change it. (Also: that header image is from a painting of them but don't let it constrain your visual headcanons. Most other images of them look pretty different and I don't mind how they look anyway.)

A deckbuilding card/board game about a hypothetical future version of baseball, in which the game has been shorted to 6 innings and there are robot and cyborg players along with "naturals." The first page of the game's manual further summarizes the worldbuilding premise, and here is a bit more on the player types. There is also a mobile app version of the game which is fairly cheap if you'd like to check it out at a lower cost than the physical edition.
This year I nominated one character for this (Madison Price) but I still requested "any" as I'm mostly interested in the worldbuilding setup it provides. (But feel free to use any characters you want from the cards or invent some OCs, or you could write a fic that doesn't focus on any characters.) I love baseball and a future of shortened baseball games featuring robot+cyborg+natural players is so interesting. And this game is a lot of fun. I especially love how the naturals adopt a random combination of names from famous past baseball players. Really anything set in this world would be fantastic. I own all the expansions so feel free to reference any player/coach/ballpark from any of them or to invent your own.

A complete 30-episode horror fiction podcast with episodes ranging from about 20-50 minutes long. Each episode tells a story about an aspect of the eponymous "nightmarish and ever-changing city," mostly told from the story of a man named David Ward who is trapped there. There's an ongoing story as well, but gosh, I am mainly super in love with the horror imagery!
I'd love any kind of "extra" story set in Eskew, or an extension/further development of an existing episode. I requested David because his POV was my favorite in the series but if you'd like to write a story from the POV of Allegra or an original character who's been stuck in Eskew, that's also cool. (I like Riyo, but prefer the stories/POVs that are more entrenched within Eskew.) Some of my favorite episodes are Product (I love the corporate ridiculousness), Tenancy (the ever-expanding encroachment on David's space), Mindfulness (just, everything about it, especially when scolding the listener for not relaxing well enough), and Festivity (all of the neat reality-crafting, plus that excellent bisection).
Weird, creepy, eerie stuff! Mindfucks! Characters betraying others or themselves! If you want to write porn set in Eskew, I'm also good with that (see my porn likes at top of letter). A historical weird horror novel that focuses on 1400s Holland following a catastrophic flood, featuring eerie atmosphere, eels, a pervasive sense of unease, and political drama. The main characters are a rope bondage & breathplay-loving violent criminal, his sociopathic politically scheming boyfriend, and a distrustful teenage girl diver who becomes entangled with them.
This book has lots of great weird creepy stuff. I really like the eerie flooded area in the first part of the book, the lost/distorted memories, the inexplicable feelings of "wrongness"/things their brains couldn't quite comprehend, and the unresolved ending. Also especially love all the betrayal of trust in this book!! (Both the partner betrayal between Jan and Sander and Jan's manipulation of Jolanda.) Would love more creepy weirdness or just weird porn. Prefer no h/c: I just want hurt, not comfort.

The Great American Whaling Novel! Also a scientifically inaccurate treatise on whales, a historically fascinating treatise on whaling, a loltastic romcom complete with meet-cutes/forced bed-sharing/marriage vows, a celebration of the sensual pleasures of sperm-squeezing, an epic revenge drama, and so much more. I love this book.
If you're down for it I would love a fic that somehow incorporates a whale fall. I've seen other stuff about whale falls before but after seeing this video in particular I really wanted some kind of weird horror moby dick fanfic that takes place on a whale fall. Maybe Ahab succeeds in slaying the whale, but they both sink to the bottom of the ocean and Ahab is somehow still alive, trapped inside the decaying skeleton of his enemy, who is also somehow still alive. Or the whole ship sinks to the bottom of the sea. Or it's a futurefic AU wherein they've hunted Moby Dick to death with sci-fi technology and they're now looking for the corpse to resolve some element of the plot but when they find it, horror things happen. Just seeing that video made me think of the scene in the book when the water is so incredibly still as they pass through the sperm whale nursery that they can see the calves nursing, and I envisioned some kind of similar eerie perspective of a whale fall.
If none of these whale fall ideas strike you, retelling some part of the book from Moby Dick's POV would also be great. I also ship Moby Dick/Ahab hatesex so that'd be good as well! As long as the whale is central to the fic in some way, as either a character or providing the whale fall setting, I am cool with it! I'm fine with any other characters showing up, and with Ishmael being the narrator (or not), but I don't want other ships to be focused on.

A fitness RPG video game for the Nintendo Switch. You progress through stages by running in place and fight enemies by doing various fitness moves in real life. It also has a cute, cartoony story where you are trying to save the world from an extremely buff dragon named Dragaux, assisted by your trusty guide Ring, who also happens to be Dragaux's old friend.
I ship Ring and Dragaux a lot! I still haven't beaten the game, so I'd prefer either backstory or something set nebulously during the adventure. The whole part when Dragaux mocked Ring for crying about his first love (an instructor) and then Ring was like "we were kids! I was dealing with strong and confusing emotions!" made me immediately envision several possible fic scenarios:

Any other AU, worldbuilding, or backstory idea you have that explores Ring & Dragaux's relationship, even if it is not shippy, is also great! And for porn, I am happy with anything from first-time fluff to heated consensual hatesex to brutal noncon. I headcanon Ring as male because I've only played with the male voice but any gender headcanons for Ring are fine and het Dragaux/Ring porn is also great. You can also genderswap Dragaux if you'd like. I would prefer the characters keep their canonical forms, but if some weird curse turns Ring into a human or something that's cool.
